Mansfield Twp. - George A. Best, 79, of the Homestead Section of Mansfield died Thursday at Virtua Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lumberton. Born in West New York, N.J. he had resided at Homestead for over 17 years. He was the retired subscription director of Boy's Life Magazine for the Boy Scouts of America. He was an Officer in the Army Air Corps during WW II. He was a graduate of Rutgers University, Class of 1948 and was a member of St. Andrew's R. C. Church of Jobstown. He is survived by his wife, May "McGovern" Best, 4 sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Mary Ellen Best of Oak Park, Ill., Kevin Best of Seaville, N.J., Howard Best of Warren, N.J. and George, Jr. and Judith Best of Milltown, N.J., a sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and George Helmke of Basking Ridge, N.J. and 7 grandchildren. Friends may call Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Huber-Moore Funeral Home, 517 Farnsworth Avenue, Bordentown. Interment will be Saturday at 12:00 Noon in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, N.J. Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity. |
