Mary Florence Steffen Briel 

Columbus - Mary Florence Steffen Briel, 95, of Columbus died Wednesday at The Pavilions at Forrestal. She was born in Trenton and was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Briel graduated from the Trenton State Teachers College. She taught school and was a project supervisor with the National Youth Administration prior to World War II. She was employed by Educational Testing Service for 25 years as an administrative assistant in the College Board Programs. She was a life member of the New Jersey Congress of Parents and Teachers and was a member of the Mercerville Senior Citizens Friendship Club. The wife of the late John T. Briel, Jr., she is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Lora and Robert Ingling of Columbus and Jeanne Van Shuren of Pittsburgh, PA, a son and daughter-in-law, John Vander and Mary Loffredo Briel of Fair Haven, eight grandchildren, nine great grand-children, a nephew, James M. Foulds and two great nephews. The funeral service and interment will be private under the direction of the Huber-Moore Funeral Home of Bordentown. There will be no calling hours.
