Columbus- Susie V. Ashwood, 78 of Columbus died Wednesday at her residence. Born in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia she has resided in Columbus for over 55 years. She retired in 2001 from Northern Burlington County Regional School System in food service after 29 years of service. Susie loved trips to Atlantic City, cooking and baking. Wife of the late Ralph A. Ashwood, Sr; she is survived by her beloved family; three son’s and daughter’s- in -law Ralph & Vicki Ashwood, Jr. of Columbus, Edward “Reds” & Natalie Ashwood of Columbus,and Gary & Christine Ashwood of Columbus; two daughters and a son-in-law, Josephine & David Wentz of Hainesport, and Jacqueline Ashwood of Columbus; a sister Stella Myers of Ruffs Dale, Pa.; 14 grandchildren Edward Ashwood, Jr., Eric Ashwood, Ali Ashwood, Anthony Testa, Kelsey Ashwood, Nathan Ashwood, Rhiannon Ashwood, Robert Broderick, Samantha Warman, Komika Broderick, Amanda Fowler, Melanie Ashwood, Tracey Gesin, and Danielle Brenner; 20 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11am from the Huber-Moore Funeral Home 517 Farnsworth Avenue, Bordentown, NJ. Burial will follow in the Columbus Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday from 9am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
