Barbara Rooney Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Barbara Ann (Henry) Rooney, Age 77 of Medford N.J., passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on July 16, 2022. Beloved wife of John J. Rooney, cherished Mother of John (Michelle), Mark (Nancy), Theresa (Vincent) Iandimarino, and Brian. Loving Grandmother of Michael, Abigail, Ava, Luke, Daniel, and Emma, and sisters Kimberly Henry, and Mary Beth "Susan" Kolbo. Barbara was preceded in death by sisters Jinny Murphy and Linda Henry, Father Walton M. Henry, and Mother Edna Henry. Barbara was born in Philadelphia and raised in Rydal, PA and graduated from Abington High School. Barbara and John were married for over 57 years and raised their family in Medford, NJ. Barbara had a very strong Christian faith which was evident to all who knew her. Prior to her illness Barbara was very involved in her church community and church choir, and enjoyed gardening, walking, music, vacationing in Ocean City NJ, and most importantly spending time with her children and grandchildren, and friends. She was lovingly cared for at Harmony Village in Moorestown NJ for 8 years. Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Thursday, July 21, 2022, from 6-8PM, at the Mathis Funeral Home, 58 North Main Medford, NJ. Visitation will continue on Friday, July 22, from 10-11AM, at the Wiley Church 101 E. Main Street Marlton NJ. Funeral services will follow at 11AM, at the church. Interment will follow in the Park View Cemetery at Kirby's Mill, in Medford, NJ. The family has respectfully requested that in lieu of flowers, contribution in her memory to the Penn Frontotemporal Degeneration Center, 3 West Gates 3400 Spruce Street Philadelphia, PA. 19104.
