May E. Sass, age 97, of Bordentown, NJ formerly of Middletown, NJ passed away at Clare Estate, Bordentown, NJ on Saturday, March 19th, 2022. She was born in Newark, NJ, and was raised in Keansburg, NJ. She lived in Middletown, NJ for over 50 years before moving to Bordentown in 2018. She was employed by Monmouth County and Middletown Township as a secretary before retiring in 1990. She was a long-time member of the New Monmouth Baptist Church, where she sang in their choir. May was an avid singer, and she enjoyed cooking and sewing items such as blankets, clothing, and craft items. She was a member of the Long Branch Ice Boat and Yacht Club, and she liked boating and fishing on the Raritan Bay and Shrewsbury River. May was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 70 years, Richard Sass. She is survived by her 2 sons Steven A. (Karen) Sass of North Hollywood, CA, and Kenneth R. Sass of Bordentown, NJ; a brother-in-law Donald (Patricia) Sass, as well as many nieces and nephews. May will be missed by many wonderful church members, and talented musical friends. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution in her memory may be made to the New Monmouth Baptist Church 4 Cherry Tree Farm Rd., Middletown, NJ 07748.
